If you have extra time, make your own vanilla powder by grounding one vanilla bean from Madagascar with 1/2 cup sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch or modified food starch. After grinding ingredients into your own fine vanilla powder, store in an airtight freezer bag or container for at least 2 weeks before using.
Usage:Powdered vanilla can be used without discoloring foods, such as: whipped cream and egg whites. Secondly, it will not thin them out during whipping. Thirdly, vanilla powder can be mixed together with dry ingredients: flour, sugar, cornstarch, etc., and then be added to wet ingredients without any lumps occurring; or, simply mixed in with dry ingredients alone. Use to coat cookies, or doughnuts after they have been baked or fried. Try adding 1 1/2 teaspoons powdered vanilla to 2 - 3 cups of sifted icing sugar.

Great in coffee to lighten it up naturally without the chemical feel of flavored coffee.

I appreciate the size of the container. The flavor is not as good as I had hoped but it will do what I need it to do. Thank you.

We've been baking with vanilla powder purchased from americanspice.com for years. The last bulk order was found to be nearly odorless and totally tasteless: What happened?
We are totally disappointed and will never purchase bulk vanilla powder again from americanspice.com

The body should consume only natural (organic if possible) ingredients. I was looking for some vanilla powder but won't be buying this brand. What are the names of the artificial ingredients? As a 3 time cancer survivor I've learned what not to consume. I'll keep looking... I'm sure though the product tastes good by other reviews.

I can't use fake vanilla, and the natural flavor is from beaver anal glands. What is to like?

I have been baking for well over 35 years and have never tasted a better vanilla. I was shocked by it's creamy and smooth taste. The troops I usually feed (USAF) have stated that the treats I'm sending them rival all others they have tried before! Thank you so much for your help in my choices! I've never had a company so willing to help a customer make choices.
Wonderful taste and smell

I use vanilla powder in any recipe that calls for vanilla. I start with 1 teaspoon and add more if I need to. Also good in my coffee.
