Usage:To blacken meat, mix into a 'paste' with clarified butter, or olive oil. Coat meat with paste and place on VERY hot cooking surface, preferably a cast iron skillet.
Ingredients:Salt, Spices, Paprika, Onion, Sugar, Contains 2% or less of Garlic, Silicon dioxide (anti-caking agent), Oleo capsicum.

This is my go-to seasoning for lots of dishes. Great for both pan frying fish, shrimp, even kielbasa and ground sausage. Great flavor, virtually no heat but delicious spiciness.

The Bayou Blacken Seasoning is a wonderful blend that will remind you of New Orleans Cajun cuisine but without the heat associated with cajun seasoning.
In addition to using Bayou Blacken Seasoning on the traditional items like fish and shrimp, I use it on Polka Kielbasa and Summer Sausage, even fresh pork sausage patties.
This seasoning goes great in Jambalaya and creole dishes, and even adds wonderful spice flavor to vegetarian dishes.

This is one of the best tasting spice blends that I have ever tried. Sure, it will give you a nice blackened coat on fish, steaks, and anything else you apply it to. But even if you choose to use it just for flavoring, it is wonderful. Just a touch of heat but incredibly flavorful. Highly recommended
