The Ghost Chile Pepper (also known as Bhut Jolokia or Naga Jolokia) is one of the world's hottest chile peppers. Watch out for this one! An HPLC analysis has tested the ghost chile at 1,041,427 Scoville heat units!!!
Probably too hot to eat alone, a little bit will instantly heat up any sauce or mix you’re working on. The intensity of the Ghost Chile Pepper is so strong it creates a blistering hot and sometimes extremely painful sensation lasting up to 30 minutes or longer.
Originating in the Assam region of northern India, the Bhut Jolokia is an interspecies hybrid that combines characteristics and genes from the Capsicum Frutescens and Capsicum Chinense Peppers. Typically, the Bhut Jolokia Pepper can be found naturally growing in only a few areas of the world, including India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. Due to their popularity and extreme heat, there are many seed and plant starter kits available. However, the growing climate has a dramatic effect on the heat of the pepper.
Here at the Great American Spice Company we can’t get it hot enough. That’s why we feature a number of sauces and other products made from the Bhut Jolokia Pepper. Buy Ghost Chile Pepper and enjoy the intensity of heat the next time you barbeque or cookout with other products like these:
- Holy Jolokia Sauce
- Jolokia Puree From Fresh Chilies
- Jolokia Spice 10
- Jolokia Rub 10
- Ghost Chile Powder
- Jolokia BBQ 10
Due to the excessive and intense heat of the Ghost Chile Pepper, consumption and handling should be approached with extreme caution!

I've ordered this product several times and have been very pleased. This last batch I got was in a non sealable bag like usual and the peppers were very light in color and in pieces not whole peppers like before. They still were hot as ever.
Holy ring of fire!

We used just two of the smaller peppers in a wing sauce that we make and "Holy Ring of Fire" was it hot. This was a different hot though, it felt like someone jammed a red hot needle through my tongue....and I loved every minute of it! We just bought the sample pack, will buy a larger quantity next time!
Surprisingly good flavor

I was expecting the heat to just drown out any appreciable flavor, but was pleasantly surprised.
It's like a super chipotle pepper, with nice tingling burn that eventually numbs your throat, but with a nice smoky kick when you exhale.

Absolutely blistering heat. Not that bad of flavor, great for seasoning or adding heat.
