Make a great basic chicken soup when you start with Chicken Soup Base. Simply add diced chicken, celery, carrots, Minced Onions, Parsley Flakes and two tablespoons of butter to four cups of water, boil and simmer, then salt and pepper to taste.
Or, whip up a quick chicken gravy by combining 1 ounce of Chicken Soup Base with 2 ounces of margarine or chicken fat, 1/2 ounce of corn starch, 1 ½ ounces of all purpose flour, and 1 quart of water in a sauce pan. Bring to boiling over medium heat while stirring frequently with a wire whip.
Usage:Mix 1 ounce of soup base in 1 quart of water, bring to boil, simmer to taste. Yields .75 qt
Salt, Chicken Fat, Modified Corn Starch, Monosodium Glutamate, Dehydrated Chicken, Sugar, Dehydrated Onion, Turmeric, and Natural Flavors.
Great Chicken Soup Base
Posted by Diane Hamp on 23rd Feb 2017
I make a simple homemade chicken soup using the canned white meat, celery, carrots, onion, spinach and any other fresh veggies I have in the fridge, green pepper & some noodles. I had always used McCormick Chicken Bouillon cubes. Then I went online to American Spice, saw their Chicken Soup Base and since I needed something to replace the Bouillon Cubes, I gave it a try. Well, this is the only chicken flavored base I will use. It made a world of difference in the taste of the soup. My husband even complimented the taste. I very highly recommend this spice. Also I have been cooking for over 50 years so I have been at this for a while.
Best Chicken Soup ever!
