Have been using this product for years. Have never been disappointed. It gives steaks and roasts and wonderful taste.
Great for charcoal grilling steaks

If you are looking for wood smoke flavor, this is not the spice to use. This is a good charcoal seasoning and gives steaks a delicate charcoal aroma. I use it in my apartment when grilling steaks on my electric grill. Works great!

This spice simply tasted like salt....extremely upset about this product. I wanted a charcoal flavor NOT SALT.
Is this even safe for human consumption?

Charcoal seasoning ??... It must be ground/ grated "never fired "charcoal briquettes. Its only flavors are salt and cigarette ash. ...No smoky bbq flavor....and the tendency of this powder to coat everything it comes in contact with may be due oil/lighter fluid...it doesn't come off my fingers without SCRUBBING with dawn dish detergent. Disappointment does not begin to cover my sentiments.
Good but could be a little better

The product is very good but would be easier to sprinkle from a shaker if the salt was finer. As is you end up sifting out the salt.

I have purchased this product before and i gave my son some and he loves it. He told me that he needs more, because he puts it on everything he grills. So i bought him a chefs size bottle also.
Good but not what I expected

I was looking for a product that provided that charcoal flavor on a gas grill. The flavor was not really what I was hoping for. It was good, but not the fabulous flavor I was expecting.
A Hit EVERY TIME I serve it!!!

I have been using this charcoal seasoning for YEARS for seasoning steaks and chops, which I cook FROZEN - right out of the freezer! I wet them down, sprinkle (to taste) with fresh ground black pepper, then sprinkle with enough charcoal seasoning to JUST completely cover the meat so it all looks black. Then I broil on the second rack from the broiler in my oven or on my well preheated gas grill, starting with 8 or 9 minutes on each side, then I check with an instant read digital thermometer, taking them out at between 120 and 140 degrees depending on the doneness desired. Voila! The best steaks and chops you have ever eaten, according to my dinner guests. I’ll never thaw meat again before cooking!!
