Butter Powder



When life leaves you without a refrigerator, substitute butter or margarine with butter powder! Just mix equal parts of water into butter powder to create a spread similar to margarine. Then, use it in baked goods or as a morning pick-me-up on camp toast. Bake potatoes in your camp fire and then top with mixed butter powder and chives!

Butter powder is the secret ingredient of professional bakers who sprinkle it between layers of dough when baking breads, rolls, or muffins. Chefs also thicken it to create turkey or chicken glazes. Of course, butter powder is most famous for adding pep to popcorn.

Soluble in warm oil and warm water up to a 60:40 ratio of powder to liquid. Temperature of the liquids should optimally be between 110 to 125 degrees Fahrenheit. Adjust as needed for your preference.
