Willie Gebhardt began the Gebhardt Mexican Foods Company in New Braunfels, Texas, in the late 1800’s. have been using Gebhardt's for years but since moving to Pa haven't been able to find it. try to stock up when we go to Ca, but most usually run out between visits. was so thrilled to find that it could be ordered at Great American Spice Co. shipping is fast and affordable.

Don't want to be redundant, but my mother also used this in the 40's. I used it in Arizona and Texas - moved to Wisconsin - no trace of it here that I could find, and called three main stores in Tucson - no luck. Thought it might have been discontinued, but was relieved to find it on American Spice. Mexican food just not the same without Gebhardt.

My mother used only Gerharbt chili powder in her Excellant cooking since the 1940 or so. It is the favor of her cooking. It was very popular in San Francisco restaurants for years. We use it today with all the family receipes. It has flavor, not just heat.

I've been using Gebhardt Chili Powder for over 25 years now and it's still the best. I've used it to take first place in 5 amateur chili cook-offs to date and wouldn't think of using any other.
I've move east(Tennessee) from my original introduction to it in Arizona, and have had a difficult time finding a supplier that ships in 1 pound quantity's. Now I have a source.

When I lived in Texas, this was a kitchen staple. Unfortunately, North Carolina isn't too keen on Gebhardt's. Can't find it anywhere so I'm thrilled that I now have source.
