Product Description

Looking for Cinnabon®'s secret ingredient? Read on...
Korintje Cinnamon (Cinnamomum burmanii) is native to Southeast Asia and Indonesia. It is normally found in West Sumatra in the region known as Kerinci Regency a regency of Jambi province (hence the name Korintje) near the city of Padang. This cinnamon is a favorite in the baking industry. It has a 2.5% oil content making it more flavorful and robust than ordinary cinnamon. Be sure to get Xanthan Gum for the filling. The ratio for mixing is recipe specific but 2 teaspoons of xanthan gum for 10 rolls.
Dave (USA) says:
“If you don't want to have to buy a box of Cinnabon Makara Cinnamon from questionable sources on Ebay, then this is the next best thing. Makara is just their branded name. Korintje Cinnamon is a strong and aromatic cinnamon that comes very close to the Cinnabon's Makara brand. There are many types of "cinnamon" and they all come from the bark of trees in the same basic family. The strongest cinnamon you can buy is Vietnamese extra strength but that's more in the red hots flavor range. if you are looking for a good strong cinnamon to makes sweet pastries with - this is your best bet. Pampered Chef uses this type and so do a number of other gourmet sources. Try it! At least you won't have 49.99 pounds of Makara cinnamon sitting on your shelf when you are done!”

Add to hot drinks. For baking add directly to recipe.

  1. Delicious Cinnamon

Posted by Diane on 20th Oct 2016

This cinnamon is high quality. When I bake with it my friends eyes roll in the back of their heads and said they have to have some of 'that cinnamon'! We did apple slices into it and don't even need to add sugar.

The 4 oz bottle that I ordered is just a years supply. It is great in apple bites, apple bread, cinnamon bread and apple and pumpkin pies. It is great mixed with sugar (or splenda) and sprinkled on buttered toast. I bake a lot and I love this cinnamon.

  6. Doesn't seem like Cinnabon Cinnamon to me

Posted by sarah Moglewer on 2nd Jan 2014

The cinnamon is very good, but not quite like Cinnabon's famous cinnamon. I use this in my coffee and it has a nice aroma.

  10. Best Cinnamon Ever

Posted by Karen C. on 10th Apr 2012

I find this to be better than all the other Cinnamon's I have tried. It has so much more flavor. It's great for baking or just to add on Oatmeal, Cereal, Fruits, Toast, French Toast, Pancakes...just about anything really. I made the Low Calorie version of the "Cinnabon" that they had on Dr. Oz & it was a "Winner/Keeper/make it again" with the Ohana (Family). lol If it wasn't for that recipe, I would have never known about this Cinnamon. I searched all over the island of Oahu, Hawaii and could not find it...I am so Glad I found "American Spice". I will be purchasing all my spices from here from now on. I can't get a better price for the products and The cost of shipping is the greatest....Mahalo & Aloha
