I mix this with a homemade mixed seasoning which gives it a little more texture.. It is very powdery and is much better if mixed with a salt mix seasoning. Overall I would recommend this product if you're looking for a Durkee Charcoal replacement. I love it!!

Durkee used to make this years ago and nothing was even comparable. Finally found a reason to eat beef again!

While this seasoning is the first real charcoal seasoning I have found in some time it does not seem to have the same flavor as the McCormack seasoning I used to use all the time. It does help flavor the meat but does not seem to have the true charcoal taste.

I will be reordering it again in the near future so I don't run out of it or just in case they don't make it anymore. I have been looking for this for some time it does make your meat etc. taste like it came off the grill. Thank you

This is THE spice you want, if you like the flavor of naturally grilled food - over a charcoal fire. Nothing else comes even close. The flavor is exactly right.
The guy who whined about the price of this spice probably also whines about the price of the darned old beach sand in his windows, after the company messed with it a bit and turned it into glass. Those rotted trees and bones and stuff that runs his car (or city bus) is also too expensive. I wonder if he just grazes in his back yard, rather than paying for food.
This spice would be worthwhile at even twice the price!

I have been using charcoal seasoning for many years, then super markets stop selling it. Ordered through the Durkee company until they discontinued it. Found it through The Great American Company several years ago. Use it on all meats and fish products. I get raves on my roasted chicken, using this seasoning. Puts great flavoring on meats and fish.

My wife's grandfather used to put charcoal seasoning on her burgers. We can't find the same brand anywhere but she loves this stuff. Says it's just like she remembers!

might be good with sulfur to make gun powder

I love this product because I love the charcoal flavor of a good steak. This was sold by DURKEE years and years ago. It was taken off the market for years but I bought many bottles before hand. I finally saw it again at Americanspice and bought 10 25oz Jars. After about 5 years later I tried to buy more and Americanspice was out. I gave my next to my last jar to my friend in fla. who could not find this product. To my surprise Americanspice got it again and I just bought more and more.
