Korintje Cinnamon (Cinnamomum burmanii) is native to Southeast Asia and Indonesia. It is normally found in West Sumatra in the region known as Kerinci Regency a regency of Jambi province (hence the name Korintje) near the city of Padang. This cinnamon is a favorite in the baking industry. It has a 2.5% oil content making it more flavorful and robust than ordinary cinnamon. Be sure to get Xanthan Gum for the filling.

    The taste is very good a bit more intense than normal cinnamon. It also tends to to stick together more because of the extra oil. The best part is the price. I use a lot of cinnamon and this is much cheaper than store buys.
