Dried Corn Syrup is commonly used in making sausage to add a mild sweetness and help with binding the ingredients. It comes in powder form and can be easily measured and stored. Some of its uses are in making sausage, coffee creamers, and cocoas. Since it comes in dry form it can be easily mixed with powdered drinks as a substitute for sugar.
Concerns about high fructose corn syrup being more of a factor in obesity, heart disease and diabetes than common table sugar have been so far rejected by the medical community. The sugar derived from Corn Syrup is viewed to be no different than table sugar or honey.
