Simply add water to avocado powder and use as a base for a tasty guacamole Mexican dip. Mix avocado powder with mayonnaise for use as an avocado spread for toast, sandwiches, or corn tortillas. Sprinkle avocado powder on white rice, in soups, over salads, or use as a rub on the side of chicken and meat.
For a refreshing beverage, mix avocado powder, milk, vanilla yogurt, and Laney Pure Wildflower Honey along with ice in a blender to make an avocado smoothie.
Our avocado powder smells like and has the same nutrients as the fresh avocado.

bitter chemical taste
Posted by Evan on 20th Jul 2014
Reading the other reviews, I got the impression that it just lacked flavor, but it's much worse than that. Since I was hoping to use it as an ice cream base, blandness would have been fine, but it had a strong bitter chemical taste that was just plain unbearable. I hoped that it might go away while the ice cream maker churned, but unfortunately the ice cream was just as disgusting as the raw mixture. I ended up tossing it into the compost.
I thought avocado powder would be convenient, but I'm guessing the reason it's so hard to find is that it tastes so bad, so there just isn't any demand for it.
avocado hopes dashed

I mixed it 1:1 with water first and then mayo. It just did not yeild at all the rich avocado flavor I needed... I hope food technology will someday make a truly rich dry granulated or powder avocado. So... I threw it all out :-(
Hate to throw it out

I've tried MANY 'Spice Variations' to make this stuff work. Lemon, Lime, Onions, Garlic, Cilantro, and more. Tried one combination after another and NOTHING seems to help the taste of this product.
I even found Avocado Oil and 'hoped' that mixing the oil with the powder would work. No such luck.
I emailed AmericanSpice separately a couple of times requesting assistance months ago. Still no reply. Guess they know there's no hope either.
I purchased 5 lbs and might have to finally give up on finding a working 'edible' solution. Maybe I'll try some 'Cosmetics' use.
For the person giving the 'Favorable Review'...
Would you please let the rest of us know how you prepared/used yours to make it taste palatable? If you don't, I'll just have to 'assume' this came from a company representative.

This stuff tastes nothing like avocado. While the texture does resemble that of guacamole, the fact is, it tastes more like an old ground up sock might taste. I do not recommend this product. After the wonderful curry powder and bacon salt, this was a huge disappointment.
Easy to use
